I LOVE A GOOD MOVIE

I love Richard Bach’s book, ILLUSIONS, The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah. I think my favorite theory put forth by the Reluctant Messiah in this little story is that our lives, yours and mine, are our own personal movies. A movie in which we are the star, we are the script writer, we are the director, directing all the players and all the events and actions in our life. I love it because I think it’s a great literary method for teaching personal responsibility. If things go wrong in my life I examine my thinking, my beliefs, and my actions, not immediately start looking in the world around me for someone or something to blame.

Personally, I have to go further and factor in God the producer who furnishes the theater of the universe, my individual stage, and the power that runs the whole show. So, we might be the star of the movie, but if or when God calls, just say yes, I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.
