STEP

STEP

Every step I take is the same step; whether I step out my door to go to work — to go to school — my place of worship — to go out with my family — to help a friend in need — or to go vote, every step I take is the same step, It’s the step into my faith and the future I choose.

Every step I take is the same step I took when I was 18 months old; my dad holding my right hand and my mother holding my left hand with my eyes and my first tooth shining in a huge grin that went from ear to ear as I squealed and bounced with joy over my great step.

Every step I take is the same step; the step I take into faith whether someone is holding my hand or I’m holding someone else’s hand; whether I step alone or with someone, the life, the spirit, and the desire is mine, a gift from God. My step is toward the light, my creator, and, my inheritance in faith and toward the future I choose.
