WHAT I MEAN BY BEING LOST
A few days ago I wrote a piece about souls who are just lost — in my opinion — rather than being sinners living their lives in condemnation with a one-way ticket to hell. I had one reader respond to me by asking, what do you mean? So, to make the point clearer, I hope, I’ll try to explain one of the hardest, if not the hardest, spiritual point for me to remember.
I need to worship the creator and not the creation. The first commandment says that I am not to have any gods before God, (you know gods like, the wife, kids, money, job, house, reputation, food, clothes, feckless political philosophies that have repeatedly failed around the world, sports, heroes, nature, gossip, politics, and you name it). I, personally, have lived up to my eye balls, my ears, tongue, nose, and finger tips in stimulation, titillation for a great part of my life; I thought that that was the American, Godly way; I thought that was my inheritance and no one should get in my way. I forgot that the people I came from always said a blessing and thanked God before every meal. Nobody and, I mean nobody, got a chicken leg or a biscuit until the source of our meal and all our blessings was acknowledged and thanked.
The cardinal point here is___ AFTER acknowledgment and thanks we can have our hearts desire. We just have to remember to thank God for our lives and all the good things in them, and mean it. God must be first____ We live move and have our being in this miracle that we know as the universe or creation by the grace of God; not one of us can provide a single breath for ourselves or a heart that beats a zillion times in our life time.
Without God we are like blind mice lost in a disintegrating maze, and God can’t pull our bacon out of the fire, we have to do that; that’s what our daily lives are about; staying close to God, maintaining this miraculous nation we’ve been given by God and our forefathers and keeping it sound for those who follow us.
That’s what I mean by “lost”; forgetting from whom all blessings flow.
THE POST I MENTION HERE, LOST, WAS POSTED FIVE DAYS AGO ON 7/16/17
Greetings! Very useful advice within this post! It’s the little changes that will make the greatest changes. Many thanks for sharing!
